Exhibition on Polish archaeological discoveries opens in China

“Archaeology at the University of Warsaw” exhibition was presented in Beijing, at an invitation from the Department of Archaeology and Museology of the Peking University. Plates presenting the scope of archaeological work undertaken by University of Warsaw missions can be seen at the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at the Peking University campus. The University of Warsaw was represented during the opening and an accompanying conference by the director of the Institute of Archaeology, prof. Wojciech Nowakowski and Dr Marta Żuchowska.

The exhibition presents discoveries and projects conducted by missions from three University of Warsaw archaeological institutions: Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology and the Centre for Precolumbian Studies.

The event aims at presenting Polish archaeological achievements as a base for future common archaeological projects. It was organized in cooperation with the Polish section of The Explorers Club and partly financed by a Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland grant (652/P-DUN/2014).
