With the appearance of the 2nd circular, the deadline for applications for the Red Sea VIII: Coveted Treasure conference has been extended till the end of March. The conference, to be held in Warsaw on 4–9 July 2017 focuses on the archaeology of the Red Sea region. It will be organized by the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw.

The Red Sea conferences have been held biannually at scientific institutions involved in research on the region. Previous editions took place in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Italy.
